Bodie
Bodie is a five-year-old border collie mix who was rescued from the pound by Northern California Border Collie Rescue before he came into our lives. You’ve probably heard that border collies are smart. Well, Bodie is so smart that he started his own Amazon book club!
His club is aptly named Bodie’s Picks, and you can join the club for free with this link. All you need is an Amazon account, and pretty much everyone has one of those. Each month Bodie will pick a book for the club to read from the books suggested by Bodie’s Picks members. All members of Bodie’s club can suggest books. The books can be fiction or nonfiction. The only requirement for the books is that they include an animal of some sort, but Bodie is especially partial to books that include dogs.
There is no obligation to read the club’s books or participate in any way, so there’s no down side to joining. If you do choose to read the book, you can get it in whatever format you prefer, including from the library, if it’s available. If the library doesn’t have it, you can request that they order it. The same goes for bookstores. You don’t have to buy it from Amazon.
When we’re finished reading a book we can discuss it by posting comments and replies. Again, it’s entirely optional.
This is a great way for animal lovers to have a reading community. It’s also a fantastic way for authors to recommend their books, if they meet the club’s book criteria. Amazon has other book clubs as well, but Bodie really hopes you’ll join his!

What a great idea! I am sure Bodie is quite proud of starting his own book club. I plan to join, although I don’t know how many (if any) books I will be able to read, as I am already in two other book clubs.

That’s great, Rose, glad you can join! To suggest a book click the link in my blog post to get to the Bodie’s Picks club. There are two ways to suggest books. You can use the “Suggest a book” button to the right of Bodie’s photo, then enter a book name and click on the search button. When the list of books is returned, find your book and click the “Suggest” button.
Another option is to scroll through the “Suggested by this Club’s members” books on the left panel using the arrows and click the “Suggest” button.
