I took the scary and exciting step of sending my manuscript off to a professional editor! I have requested a modified copy-edit, which will also include pacing recommendations. It’s scary because I wonder if my book will be slashed to bits by the red pen, and it’s exciting because this brings me one step closer to getting my book published. I found my editor on Reedsy.com, although there are many websites offering editors and editing services.
If you’re not already following my blog, check back here after November 9th for an update on the editor’s feedback. I’m also writing a newsletter article about editors and the different types of edits, so if you haven’t already signed up to receive my newsletter, use the button at the top of the main page of my website to sign up to receive it.
The edit will make your book even better than it already is.

Thanks, Steve. We’ll see how brave I am when I get the editor’s revisions–I might be curled up in a ball under the covers! 😲
